THE STUDENTS’ DIFFICULTIES IN USING SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE: A CASE STUDY AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

This study aims to determine the problems faced by second-grade students in using simple present tense at (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) MAN Dompu. The data collection used this research is interviews and tests, order find classify who have difficulty tense. method descriptive qualitative quantitative methods. population consisted of 5 classes sample was taken randomly, eight each class were as samples. number samples 40 students. results analysis obtained through object tests essay show that students' scores are very poor. evidenced average value 3.9. Based on test results, it shows low ability tense, quite interested English subjects; difficult for them; teachers never give advice motivation students; teacher informs about importance learning English, especially tense; English; pay attention lack stimulation abilities. researcher hopes can contribute teaching process use
